Will I outgrow
my allergy?
Many children with food allergies outgrow their allergy during childhood. This is particularly true if the child is allergic to cow’s milk, wheat or hen’s egg, but less likely if they are allergic to peanuts, tree nuts (such as walnuts, cashews and Brazils), fish or shellfish.
If you believe you may have outgrown their allergy, you should visit your doctor. You can then refer to an allergy clinic where they can help decide whether or not you are still allergic.
